The terms and conditions that govern your use of our website and member directory.
Last updated: June 22, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website at paguild.org (the “Site”), operated by the PA Guild of Professional Chimney Sweeps (“the Guild,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read them carefully. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
By using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding agreement. These Terms apply to all visitors, homeowners, members, and other users of the Site.
The Guild is a professional association of chimney sweeps in Pennsylvania. Our member directory is provided as an informational resource to help homeowners locate Guild members. The Guild does not perform chimney services, does not employ its members, and is not a party to any agreement between a homeowner and a member. Listing in the directory is not a guarantee, warranty, or endorsement of any member’s work, licensing, insurance, or qualifications. You are responsible for independently verifying a professional’s credentials and for any agreement you enter into with them.
You agree not to:
Membership in the Guild is open to qualifying professionals and is subject to the Guild’s bylaws, code of ethics, and membership requirements. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. The Guild reserves the right to approve, decline, suspend, or revoke membership, and to remove or modify a directory listing, in accordance with its governing documents. Membership dues, where applicable, are governed by the terms communicated at the time of application or renewal.
When you submit information through our forms — including contact messages, complaints, and membership applications — you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You grant the Guild permission to use the information to respond to and act on your submission as described in our Privacy Policy. Complaints are reviewed by the Guild board; submitting a complaint does not guarantee any particular outcome.
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, and the Guild name and marks — are owned by or licensed to the Guild and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that the information in the member directory is complete, current, or accurate.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Guild and its officers, directors, members, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of the Site or your dealings with any member or third party found through the Site. This includes any dispute over services performed by a chimney professional listed in the directory.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Guild and its officers, directors, members, and volunteers from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that are not owned or controlled by the Guild. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site. Accessing them is at your own risk.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Pennsylvania.
We may revise these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
